Origin of  "Decades of Exile": I originally wrote this song after the drummer of the KGB requested it. It had words as well as music. He never completed his project. In mid-October I was completing work on my EP. I wanted a dry run through Distrokid to avoid any unforeseen problems releasing material.  So I rearranged the song without words and released it. It symbolizes my return to the music world from just setting alone in my studio.

Origin of  "Shadowy Passenger": I wrote the first part of the song from a single bass line. I looked at each bass note an added MIDI notes from virtual instruments. My wife heard it and stated it sound like it belonged to a serial killer. Fast forward almost a decade I brought the song back. I was heading over to Starbucks and started to think some words. I had a short little tune I did on pianos also so I used that for the second half of the song. I was not quite up to par on guitar so I asked Chuck Roberts to do a lead for me. With my Wife's comment and the lyrics i was writing it morphed into to a song about Showtimes Dexter. This was released as a single the released as track 3 of my EP.

Origin of  "Ying": This song started as just a backing track as I was learning lead guitar. As I played it became more an instrumental than a backing track. It became track 1 of my EP and is written with my wife in mind.

Origin of  "A Song for Fred":  This was the next step in music composition for me. After a couple other songs were written my youngest son said..."you got to write a song for me". We had nicknamed him Fred so that is how the title came around. This is track 2 of my EP

Origin of  "Tilla West Coastie Saves U":  It was written for my other son in the Coast Guard. At the time he was stationed in Tillamook OR which is on the west coast. A nick name for a member of the Coast Guard is a Coastie. I made up the title.  It is influenced by my love for Pink Floyd. It has three parts first is the Coast Guard at port just waiting for a call. There are little easter eggs in the song.  You hear a morse code chime in. This is actually the lat and long of the position my son took my dads ashes to and buried the at see. There is also a joke backwards message that also related to my sons birthday. The second part is where the Guard is rushing out to rescue a sinking boat. I asked Shawn Gonsalves to do a guitar solo over it. The third Part represents the rescue being over and them heading to port safe and sound. This is track 4 of my EP.

Origin of  "Kina Yang":  It was written with the bass guitar doing the main melody.  Hence the opposite of track 1. It was track 5 the final track of the EP. It was written for our roommate at the time Jennifer.

Origin of  "Loopy Flaver In B Dorian":  It is just a B dorian backing track for guitar.

Origin of  "The Adventures of Hollis
":  It was written for my first Grand daughter. It is also a learning experience for me. It starts out  as C# minor. Then goes the relative major of E. But I don't stop there. The song progresses through each E mode. E Ionian then E Dorian, and then back to E Ionian. It was a very fun song to write and I learn quite bit on how to use modes.

Origin of "Truly Katie and the Alaskan Salmon" My oldest son was still in the coast guard was transferred to Kodiak Alaska, My youngest son, my wife and myself went to visit the our new grand daughter. It is about that time with our daughter in law her dog Truley and fishing for salmon.

The origin of  "Eden" This is written for my youngest Grand daughter
